Gothic Gala Lacquers Holiday Collection!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am really hoping that you all had a fantastic holiday, and now that all of the hard work and overeating is finished this evening would not be complete without some new indies to swatch and show you.  Of course, I am thankful for my daughter Gia, my husband, family, friends, the roof over my head, my health and all of that good stuff but I am also thankful for some good polish and how can I end the night without giving myself a manicure?!  My nails have taken such a beating in the last few days with all of the cooking, cleaning, scrubbing, stuffing, you know all that fun holiday prep work (can you feel the sarcasm?) so I have trimmed them down to nubs, and have an awesome collection tonight so lets get started.

I was introduced to Gothic Gala Lacquers recently, many of you already know from my last post which was a custom made by the lovely creator Samantha, and tonight I want to show you her holiday collection which will blow you away.  It is a collection of five new stunners and a new top coat that will smooth over any glitter polish that you may have a problem with.

The first of the beauties I bring to you tonight is Winter Wonderland, a beautiful opalescent white polish that has an incredible shimmer to it when the light hits it.  This is such a pretty winter white polish and goes on so smoothly! The formula is amazing and I achieved full coverage in only two coats, opalescent polish will leave brush marks so just make sure to use a steady hand when applying but I promise the little bit of extra work is well worth it.

This holiday collection also includes a lovely blue jelly, glitter polish called Blue Christmas which will be on your ISO list for sure.  This is the perfect jelly sandwich, you have a mix of medium sized white and gold hex glitter along with micro silver and gold glitter throughout this amazing bright blue jelly base.  The glitter was a dream to work with, I didn't have to fish or worry about placement at all and only two coats did the trick and left me with a perfect sandwiched manicure.  I topped this mani with Gothic Gala Lacquers Smooth Me Over and my nails looked almost like stained glass windows, this is a great glitter smoother without the fumes or sticky mess.

This collection has it all and next up is an amazing glitter topper that will go with just about any polish you want to put underneath.  Snowfall is a clear based topper with micro and small sized hex glitter in silver, gold and peachy pink.  The application was a breeze, I didn't have to worry about pulling or glitter placement here at all and this will look incredible on top of almost an color.

This polish was one of my fav's out of the collection, Auld Lang Syne is another beautiful topper consisting of black and silver glitter, scattered holo, and OH MY is it lovely!  It is jam packed with glitter, but not to the point that it is too thick to apply, the glitter brushes on so evenly that I only had to apply one coat of this stunner.  Any shade will look great as an undie with Auld Lang Syne and I know that I will be wearing it year round.

Of course, I saved my favorite Gothic Gala Lacquer for last, It's Raining Glitter is the ultimate girly-girl topper.  This polish is packed with three different sized dots, diamonds and hexes in pink fuchsia, silver, purple and green, it also has a scattered holo and is pretty much everything that I love about polish packed into one bottle.  The application, again was dreamy, I had so much fun placing these pretty glitters on to my tiny nubs.  I cannot wait until I have some more growth so I can play with it again.

All of these were topped with Smooth Me Over and it did just that, the finish was perfectly smooth without feeling any ridges on my nails.  Gothic Gala is a beautiful polish that is very feminine and fun at the same time.  The creator also makes customs, like I showed in my last post, and is having an amazing Black Friday sale!  If you visit the Gothic Gala Etsy shop and use coupon code BLACKFRIDAY you will receive 30% off of your entire order OR you can use code FREESHIPPINGBF for free shipping on orders of $20 or more.  As if that isn't good enough any order over $16, after discounts and before shipping, will receive a free bottle of the LE Shop Teal You Drop which cannot be purchased.  These are some amazing Black Friday sales and you're not going to want to miss them!  You can check out the Gothic Gala Lacquers Facebook fan page to keep up with news, releases and upcoming promotions.

Thanksgiving is a special holiday to me because you don't have to worry about gifts, trying to
top someone and means that Christmas and the end of the year are approaching.  It is also a time to have your family and loved ones close to you, enjoy good food, good company and reflect on what you are most thankful for and what matters in your life.  With that said, I would like to say how thankful I am for you, yes YOU, the reader, the person who takes a minute to click that "subscribe" button or the link to my page and comes to visit.  This is a somewhat new blog, only a few months old, and every single one of you who click in means so very much to me so... THANK YOU!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and I'll be back soon with something exciting!

Goodnight!!!!

Gothic Gala Lacquers: My Custom Polish is Prettiful!

Hey guys! I'm sure you're all busy getting ready for Thanksgiving, I know I am, but there's always time for some swatches.  I want to give you a little background on the name of this custom before I get into swatches and such.  You all know my daughter, Gia, how much of a girly-girl she is and that she shares a love for pretty polish just like her Momma.  Every time Gigi sees a pretty polish on my nails she flips for it, always complimenting me and letting me know how much she admires it.  What Gia usually says to me is "Momma! That is prettiful!" Prettiful, my 2 1/2 year old daughter combines pretty and beautiful and that is the end result, so when I was asked what I wanted to name this polish Prettiful was it!

I asked Samantha, the creator of all Gothic Gala Lacquers, if she could make me a beautiful purple holo (yes, I have a problem with purple holos too) and she accepted the task without any hesitation.  I explained to her the color I was hoping for and she kept in great communication with me, showing me pictures and asking me how I liked the progress.  The last picture blew me away, and I couldn't wait to get Prettiful into my hands.  It is a beautiful dusty, purple scattered holo polish that takes your breath away.  The application was effortless and the formula is rich and silky smooth.  Take a look at this stunner, with and without flash so you can get the full effect of Samantha's talents.

Stunning!!! I couldn't believe how well Samantha had nailed what I was hoping for, plus how perfect the formula is, to say that I was pleased is an understatement.  If you would like to check out Gothic Gala Lacquers you can visit the Etsy Shop or become a fan of the Facebook page to keep up with promotions and releases.  I have a few others from Gothic Gala that I will be bringing to you later this week, and right in time for Black Friday sales so stay tuned.

I wish you all have a safe and happy holiday with family and friends!

Goodnight!!!!

Cult Nails All Access Collection Swatches and Review

Hey everyone!  I hope you all are having a great week and survived all of the pre-order and restocks that went on.  The polish Gods were on my side for once and I was able to nab most of what I wanted.  On the home front though, Gia has a nasty little cold and once again we've been stuck indoors.  The weather has been pretty chilly, so I think no matter what we wouldn't have been outside exploring too much but with her not feeling well I haven't been able to get a lot of swatches to you guys this week.  Hopefully, my little one gets over this nasty congestion quickly and we're able to do something exciting with her this weekend.  I was able to get a few swatches done so lets get to them.

Tonight, I have the All Access Collection from Cult Nails and I love them all.  This collection is made up of five different colors, three crèmes, a gold glitter topper and a beautiful jelly with some crimson glitter shards within it.

First I bring to you guys Grunge which is described as "the perfect military green creme that is blended with just the right amount of femininity" and I think this is pretty spot on.  Grunge is such a rich and creamy polish that I fell in love with it right away.  Aside from the formula and color being so dreamy, it is also a true one-coater.

Next up I have Wack Slacks for you all, I love the name by the way.  All I can say is, what a beautiful blue that is described as "a bold blue creme that sets itself apart by leaning, slightly, purple."  You can see a hint of purple when you catch this beauty in the right lighting and then back to a deep blue in the shade.  The formula was perfection, and Wack Slacks is almost a one-coater as well but I applied two for full coverage.

Another beautiful creme in this collection is Lamestain, a beautiful crimson, vampy, blood red polish.  Two coats was all that I needed for full coverage and I don't have a single complaint when it comes to this beauty.

I was drawn to Disillusion because the berry colored shreds of glitter in the bottle were beyond amazing.  I wore this polish alone and just want to note that it is best to wait for each coat to completely dry before applying the next.  The glitter shreds can be a little difficult to work with, and will pull if not completely dry, but if patience isn't a strong point for you then I suggest wearing this over a black polish and you'll get the same effect.

Lastly, we have the glitter topper of this collection, Feedback.  The glitter was the same as in Disillusion, nice thick shreds of glitter in gold, pink and orange and I thought it looked lovely on top of Grunge.  The application can be a little tricky since it is shreds, instead of flat standard shaped glitter, but it is worth the tiny bit of effort.  I love the end result and all I needed to seal the deal was a thick top coat to lock it all into place.

The All Access Collection is still available for $12 per bottle on the Cult Nails site and definitely worth checking out.  I don't wear a lot of glitter, as you guys know, but I really enjoyed applying these as well as wearing them.  You can also become a fan of Cult Nails on Facebook to keep up with  new collections, sales and promotions.

The weekend is approaching, WOOT, and I hope you have a great one!  I want you all to know that I am currently speaking with an indie maker about doing a giveaway in a few weeks and this one is going to be really special!  Stay tuned and have a great night!

Lyn B Designs: Additions to the They're Better in Books Collection!

Hey guys!!!  What a cold, gloomy day it has been here but I had my two nephews over earlier which really brightened things up for Gia and I.  You would think a house full of three children under 6 would be enough to drive me to drink, but it was really quite pleasant and I was so happy to see all of my babies together.  Gigi adores her big cousin and was absolutely agreeable to anything I asked of her as long as my nephew was here, it's really nice when you can see the kids forming bonds in front of your eyes.  Enough sappy kid stuff and on to a beautiful indie collection!

We all know how much I love Lyn B Designs, I really cannot get enough of this line and there is always something new and fresh being added to the shop.  This time the creator, Jenna, has outdone herself again and added five new beauties to her They're Better in Books Collection, which will be released tomorrow.  A lot of the time when we think of indie polish we automatically think of beautiful glitter toppers, glitter jellies or stunning rainbow holo's but these five additions are the most amazing crèmes and jellies that I have seen in a long time, whether being from an indie or big brand.

I had to try White Fang first because the brightness of this perfect white stood out from the rest.  Some of you may be thinking, "What's the big deal of a plain white crème?!" but let me tell you, I have the hardest time trying to find that perfect white to either use as a base, accent nail or even wear alone and White Fang is my new GO-TO white polish.  Usually white can be very difficult to work with due to streaking and the opaqueness of the formula, but White Fang is perfectly smooth and streak free.  I was able to reach full opaqueness in two coats and I love the way it looks alone here.

Since I was on a roll with the bright crèmes It's the New Black had to be next on my list.  Neon polish has been a problem for me many, many times because most of the formulas are very thick and trying to get an even finish, without being too thick, is hard to come by but not the case here.  It's the New Black is a beautiful crème, neonish orange that goes on smooth without any streaks, brush marks or pooling.  All I kept thinking about was how lovely this polish would look in the summer against a nice crispy tan!

After seeing such bright, vivid polish I moved on to the deeper tones and was so happy when I saw that there were new jellies in this collection.  Leather Bound is such an incredible green jelly with some brown undertones, total autumn perfection and I love how the brown pigment hints through the green in such a subtle way.  Jellies are always fun for me to work with and this polish was a blast, three coats built up perfectly and I received so many compliments on the finished product.

These beautiful jellies were screaming to me and Like Blood or Berries is unbelievably, squishy, jelly polish perfection!  It is described as a "deep berry colored jelly" and it looked like I had glass on my nails even before I applied a top coat.  Three coats were used to have full coverage, but I probably could have gotten away with two, I really wanted to see how deep I could take this berry beauty and was floored by the outcome.  I have so many ideas of jelly sandwiches that can be achieved with this polish in the future, and I know that I will get tons of wear out of Like Blood or Berries.

I always save my favorite for last and I promise you will not be disappointed.  When it comes to purple polish, I have a weakness, a true 100%, can't control myself, I need it now, no matter the shade, no matter the formula, I just NEED it, weakness and this polish is one I guarantee you need as well.  I'm Your Huckleberry is a jaw dropping purple that will look beautiful on any skin tone, any time of year and for any occasion.  It is described as a "blue toned purple crème" but those words just do not do it justice, the blue peeks through in the right lighting and the purple is so rich and creamy but bright and lively at the same time.  Once again, the formula was great to work with and two coats went on problem free, which makes me so happy because you can have an amazing polish but if the formula is tricky to work with I most probably won't wear it again. I'm Your Huckleberry is another polish that will always be in my arsenal and will get plenty of wear!

These five new beauties from the They're Better in Books Collection will be released tomorrow, and you can get your hands on them by visiting the Lyn B Designs Etsy shop.  You can also keep up with news, releases, swatches and promotions by becoming a fan of the Lyn B Designs Facebook page.

Tomorrow is Friday guys, I hope you all had an amazing week, have an even better weekend and I promise to be back very soon with another must have collection from Cult Nails... Oh and possibly info on a new GIVEAWAY.

Goodnight!!!!!!

Sneak Peek: Cult Nails LE Midnight Masquerade Collection

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend!!  Our weekend was pretty boring, I have to admit, we did some chores and the hubby painted but that's as exciting as it got for us.  I do however, have some exciting and stunning polish to show you tonight that I think you will just love!

I was able to get my hands on a sneak preview of the Cult Nails Limited Edition Midnight Masquerade Collection and is it incredible.  This collection is a mini, three full-sized polish collection for Fall 2013 and can be pre-ordered between now and November 14th for $24 as a set, or $12 individually, why not nab a set?!  You might also want to know that this is in fact a Limited Edition and only 500 are being made so I would grab them while available.

Lets take a look at the swatches!  The first beauty to catch my eye was Masquerade, which is described as a "green [with] color shifting micro-glitter that blends from emerald to gold to magenta.”  It is insanely gorgeous and the pink, magenta shimmer catches in any light, high or low.  I had full coverage in two coats and there weren't any problems with the formula or application.  Masquerade went on smoothly for me and dried beautifully, I was even able to get 4 days wear out of it which is a rarity when doing Mommy chores.

Ms. Conduct was the next pretty that I tried and is described as a "rich taupe crème" polish.  The shine on this crème is amazing, I couldn't believe how glossy and almost glass looking it seemed even before applying a top coat.  The formula is a creamy dream and application was a breeze.  Ms. Conduct is a beautiful, rich taupe polish that can be worn any time of the year since it is such a beautiful neutral shade.  Take a look...

Lastly, I bring to you all my absolute favorite out of the collection, Midnight Mist which is described as an “olive toned base with an intense copper/golden shimmer.”   I love the shine to this polish and sometimes when I have used similar shimmers I have a problem with brush strokes but not the case, you have to look hard or in the right light to catch brush strokes with Midnight Mist.

I strongly suggest trying to pre-order this trio since it is limited and not available for long.  The colors are very rich and have deep, beautiful tones that are perfect for this time of year.  If you would like to pre-order you can visit Cult Nails now and grab these three beauties for the discounted price of $24.

I hope you all enjoyed the swatches and I'll be back soon with some more pretties for you.

Goodnight!!!!!
